Fleet Foxes’ Robin Pecknold at Thalia Hall on Nov. 20

Robin Pecknold, lead singer who is also the primary songwriter and vocalist for the band Fleet Foxes is coming to Chicago on Nov. 20. He will be performing at Thalia Hall. 

 

Robin Pecknold is known for his work with Fleet Foxes, which started in Seattle in 2006. They began producing and releasing music in 2006 with their first album self-titled, Fleet Foxes. They were almost immediately a commercial hit. 

 

Since then the band and Pecknold have released six albums, one EP, and four singles. 

 

Pecknold has always been musically inclined. He wrote and released his first song, Sarah Jane, at 14. With that song, he released another six on a demo entitled, St. Vincent Street, which circulated his hometown. 

 

After that, in 2005, he toured around with the band Dolour as their bassist before forming Fleet Foxes with his childhood friend  Skyler Skjelse in 2006. Robin has also produced some solo works including his EP, Three Songs, released on Twitter in 2011. 

 

Pecknold and Fleet Foxes are known for their indie folk and folk rock sound. Pnecknold and the band have taken inspiration from the likes of Joni Mitchell and Brian Wilson. 

 

Although Pecknold has not released any solo music as of recently, Fleet Foxes released a new album, Live on Boston Harbour, in 2024. You can expect the performance to not only be filled with solo works but Fleet Foxes works as well.
