Cage the Elephant: Neon Pill Tour at Credit Union 1 arena on Aug. 14

Cage the Elephant has begun their North American tour for their newest album, Neon Pill. Chicago is the second stop on the tour where they will be performing at Credit Union 1 arena on Aug. 14.

This Kentucky-based band formed the group in 2006. The members are composed of vocalist Matt Shultz, rhythm guitarist Brad Shultz, lead guitarist Nick Bockrath, guitarist and keyboardist Matthan Minster, bassist Daniel Tichenir, and drummer Jared Champion.

Although beginning in 2006, the band was not signed to a label until 2007. Then in 208, they packed up and moved to England. The next year, the band released their first studio album self-titled, Cage the Elephant, with RCA Records. This first album took off running with songs like “Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked” and “In One Ear”.

Altogether the band has nine studio albums and 11 singles. The band made their big splash with the release of the album, Melophobia, in 2013 which included the song “Cigarette Daydream”. That song was featured in movies and TV shows and is even still a TikTok viral sensation in 2024.

Since then, they have released albums and singles regularly and have an immense following. They are known for their sound of the alternative rock persuasion. Every song in their discography is unique while also being able to mesh with the rest of the album.

According to Spotify, they have been known to put on “wildly cathartic performances.” This performance will be accompanied by the likes of Young the Giant anf Bakar. You won’t want to miss their upcoming arrival in Chicago with a sure-to-be electric performance on Aug. 14 at Credit Union 1 Arena. Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster ticketmaster.com
