Photo Review: Power Trip at The Factory

Thrash metal band Power Trip played its first show after lead singer, Riley Gale’s, death in 2020, at the Factory in Deep Ellum, Texas. And what a show it was. The band’s future was unsure after Gales passing, but in 2023 they added Seth Gilmore to lead vocals and in early 2024 announced they would be performing again. The show included some amazing opening artists such as Frozen Soul and Fleshrot — building up the crowd’s anticipation and hype before the main event.

Right as the stage was getting set up for their performance, the crowd started chanting “Power Trip, Power Trip” and once they hit the crowd went wild. The crowd surfers were back to back, filling the photo pit every few minutes — it was a wild experience. The band’s performance was top-notch, opening a new phase for the band and continued success.
