Paul Weller at the Fillmore September 22 & 23

English new wave musician, Paul Weller, has announced a US tour in support of his upcoming album, 66! He will me making a stop in San Francisco for two nights on September 22 and 23.

Weller began his professional career in 1972 and founded pioneering punk rock group, The Jam in 1974. Emerging around the same time as The Clash and Sex Pistols, the group was active until 1982 and released six studio albums in their short career. Following The Jam’s disbandment, Weller founded pop group, The Style Council. The band released five studio albums in their six year run, eventually hitting a commercial decline and disbanding in 1989.

Weller’s solo career was ushered in along with the new decade and he used it to experiment with different genres and worked with various different musicians. Across his prolific and ongoing career, Weller has released sixteen studio albums and worked with musical legends across the UK. His legacy is one of legendary status among English musicians. Praised for his prowess as a writer and performer, Weller has become a national legend despite not having too many accolades internationally. His upcoming seventeenth album, 66, is set to release on May 24, the day before his 66th birthday.
