The Black Keys at Shoreline Amphitheatre on September 29

Garage rock duo, The Black Keys, have announced the International Players Tour in support of their brand new album, Ohio Players! They will be making a stop in Mountain View at the Shoreline Amphitheatre on September 29.

Originally formed in Akron, Ohio in 2001, The Black Keys are lead vocalist and guitarist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney. The duo met as kids and created The Black Keys after dropping out of college, sending a demo tape to various record labels and eventually being picked up by the Los Angeles based Alive Records. The band’s debut album, The Big Come Up, released in May 2002. They followed up the record with Thickfreakness in 2003, the album that would push them into the public spotlight.

The Black Keys have released a total of twelve studio albums, including their incredibly successful 2011 seventh album, El Camino. The band’s most recent album, Ohio Players, released last Friday to favorable reviews. The Black Keys are known for their musical style that blends blues rock, garage rock, and indie rock. They’re one of the most notable acts from the early 2010s because of their hits “Lonely Boy,” “Gold on the Ceiling,” and “Howlin’ for You.”
