Okkervil River at The Chapel on June 24 & 25

Indie rock band, Okkervil River, have announced a double-headlining North American tour with The Antlers! They will be making a stop in San Francisco for two nights on June 24 and 25.

Formed in Austin, Texas is 1998, Okkervil River is lead by singer-songwriter, Will Sheff. The band is named after the river Okkervil in Saint Petersberg which was the setting of a short story by Russian author, Tatyana Tolstaya. Okkervil River is lead vocalist Will Sheff, drummer Cully Symington, guitarist Will Gaefe, keyboardist Sarah Pedinotti, bassist Benjamin Lazar Davis, and percussionist Jeremy Gustin.

The band started their career with a series of EPs that garnered them some traction. They would release their debut album, Don’t Fall in Love with Everyone You See, in 2002. Over the last two decades, Okkervil River have put out a total of nine studio albums, the most recent of which, In the Rainbow Rain, released in 2018. The band has gone through a number of lineup changes throughout their existence, leading to the creation of a some spinoffs and side projects. Band leader, Will Sheff, released his debut solo album, Nothing Special, in 2022.
