The Gaslight Anthem at The Warfield on August 2

New Jersey based rock band, The Gaslight Anthem, have announced the History Books Tour with Joyce Manor in off the heels of their most recent album, History Books! They will be making a stop in San Francisco at The Warfield on August 2.

Formed in 2006 in New Brunswick, New Jersey, The Gaslight Anthem is lead vocalist Brian Fallon, lead guitarist Alex Rosamilia, bass guitarist Alex Levine, and drummer Benny Horowitz. Best known for their single “”45″,” the band’s sound is heavily inspired by the work of Bruce Springsteen and the blue collar culture of the town they were birthed in.

The Gaslight Anthem released their debut album, Sink or Swim, in 2007 and was well received in the independent music scene. The group’s follow-up record, The ’59 Sound, was picked up by more mainstream publications and garnered attention from Bruce Springsteen. A supporting gig with Springsteen and a European tour with Social Distortion helped the band break into the greater music scene in full force. After an additional three albums, the band went on hiatus in 2015.

The group reunited in 2018 for a spot at Governor’s Ball and an anniversary tour for The ’59 Sound. The hiatus continued afterwards until they announced a formal and indefinite reunion in 2022. The Gaslight Anthem released their sixth and most recent album, History Books, in October 2023.
