Kid Cudi at Chase Center on August 20

Celebrated rapper and singer, Kid Cudi, has announced a North American tour in support of his brand-new albums, Insano and Insano (Nitro Mega)! He will be making a stop at the Chase Center on August 20.

Scott Mescudi, professionally known as Kid Cudi, is best known for hits like “Day ‘n’ Nite,” “Pursuit of Happiness,” and “Mr. Rager.” Mescudi, who has had a lifelong love for music, got his start in the industry after a chance encounter with idol and future mentor Kanye West. Under West’s label, GOOD Music, Mescudi released his mixtape, A Kid Named Cudi, in July 2008. After gaining traction from the mixtape and some guest appearances on Kanye West songs, Mescudi dropped his debut album, Man on the Moon: The End of Day in September 2009. The album was an instant hit and is often cited as a source of inspiration for modern rappers like Travis Scott and Lil Yachty.

Mescudi has been praised for his vulnerability in his music, tackling subjects like drug use and mental health. He’s been a prominent cultural figure throughout the last decade, experimenting with genre in his music and even dabbling in acting. Man on the Moon received two follow-up projects, Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager, in 2010, and Man on the Moon III: The Chosen, in 2020. His most recent albums, Insano and Insano (Nitro Mega) feature a much more energetic sound compared to his earlier work, creating a full circle moment with the genres he helped create.
