Bleachers are coming to Philly! Bleachers, the brainchild of Grammy-winning musician Jack Antonoff, is an American indie pop band known for their infectious hooks, nostalgic lyrics, and anthemic sound. Formed in New Jersey in 2014, Bleachers emerged as a solo project for Antonoff, who had already made a name for himself as a member of the indie rock band Fun. Inspired by his love for ’80s pop music and his own personal experiences, Antonoff crafted Bleachers’ debut album, Strange Desire, which was released to critical acclaim.
Bleachers works closely with many other artists, given that Jack Antonoff is a producer for several artists in the industry. Recently collaborations include the band being featured on a remix of Taylor Swift’s “Anti-Hero”. On March 24, 2023, the band featured on Lana Del Rey’s song “Margaret” taken from Del Rey’s album Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd. On September 20, 2023, Bleachers released “Modern Girl” as the first single from their fourth studio album. The album, titled Bleachers, was released on March 8, 2024. The band is heading out on tour, traveling across Europe, the UK, and North America. See them at The Met on June 12th at 7:30 pm. $1 per ticket will go to support TAC’s work to support unhoused LGBTQ youths.
