Cincinnati based alternative rock band, The National, have announced the Zen Diagram Tour in support of their new album, Laugh Track. The group will join forces with The War On Drugs for a show in Berkeley at the Greek Theatre on October 6.

Formed in Brooklyn, New York in 1999, The National is Matt Berninger on lead vocals, twin brothers Aaron and Bryce Dessner on guitars, pianos, and keyboards, and brothers Scott and Bryan Devendorf on bass and drums respectively. The group independently released their debut self-titled album in 2001 and followed up two year later with 2003’s Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers.

The band would begin to see commercial success with the release of their third album, Alligator, in 2005. The album received widespread critical acclaim, including being named one of the best albums of the year by numerous publications. The National played a number of sold out shows and festivals in support of the album, cementing them as a group to watch. Since then, the band has released an additional seven albums, all of which have received critical acclaim and furthered the success of the band.

The National’s most recent project, Laugh Track, surprise dropped in September, following First Two Pages of Frankenstein, which released that April. The album featured contributions from Justin Vernon and Phoebe Bridgers.
