The National are coming to Philly! The National, an American indie rock band formed in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1999, is comprised of Matt Berninger (vocals), Aaron Dessner (guitar, keyboards), Bryce Dessner (guitar), Scott Devendorf (bass), and Bryan Devendorf (drums). Their breakthrough came with the release of their third album, Alligator in 2005, which garnered critical acclaim for its raw honesty and dynamic sound. The band’s subsequent albums, including Boxer, High Violet, and Trouble Will Find Me, further solidified their reputation as masters of brooding, atmospheric rock.
In addition to their own music, members of The National have collaborated with a diverse array of artists across various genres, showcasing their versatility, one of popular note being Taylor Swift, featuring The National on her song from critically acclaimed album Folklore, “coney island.
The band recently announced their newest album, Laugh Track, by complete surprise at Homecoming Festival in Cincinnati, Ohio, three days before its release on September 15th, 2023. It is the band’s 10th studio album. To celebrate the album, The National is going on tour from Australia to Europe to the U.S. to Canada.
