Adrianne Lenker at the Fox Theatre on June 17

American singer-songwriter and guitarist, Adrianne Lenker, has announced a tour in support of her upcoming solo album, bright future. She will be making a stop in Oakland at the Fox Theatre on June 17.

Lenker is best known for her work as the lead vocalist and primary songwriter for the indie folk band, Big Thief. She has deep roots in music and songwriting, having written her first song by the age of 8 and recording her first album at the age of 13. She released her debut full length project, Stages of the Sun, at the age of 14.

After attending Berklee College of Music, Lenker released her sophomore LP, Hours Were the Birds, in 2014. In 2015, she formed Big Thief and would not release another solo album until 2018. Abysskiss arrived in October of that year to widespread critical acclaim. Lenker’s fourth and fifth albums, titled Songs and Instrumentals respectively, came out in October 2020. Songs follows a more traditional album and songwriting structure, while Instrumentals is comprised of two extended instrumental pieces.

Coming off the heals of a successful and busy 2023, Lenker has scheduled the release of her brand new album, bright future, for March 22. Be sure to watch her play material from the new project at the Fox Theatre on June 17. Tickets are available here
