Album Review: Dripping Decay – Ripping Remains EP

Earth shattering tunes

Oregon’s death metal band Dripping Decay are known for their insane music and earlier this month released the EP Ripping Remains. As a whole, all six songs are filled with fanatic instrumentation and vocal performances that bring what death metal is known for, the soul shaking – face smacking noise. Ripping Remains shows how passionate Dripping Decay is about their music.

The title track “Ripping Remains” kicks things off with a bang, the bass guitar slaying the background with deep guitar riffs. While listening, the sound of pulsing bass guitar notes contributes to the insanity.

Another song that has killer guitar playing is “Lead To Kill.” The electrifying lead guitar riffs are truly sinister throughout this composition and contribute to the demonic theme. The best part is hearing the lead guitar fill the air with pure madness.

The best part about this EP is Dripping Decay’s version of the Halloween tune “Trick or Treat,” the vocalist sounding out in the darkness while wailing out the lyrics in evil delight. “Trick or Treat” is a scary song, and the band makes the composition sound just as creepy as the vocalist eerily sings out the lyrics.

Although Ripping Remains only has six songs, the EP is filled with righteous death metal that some people will head bang to while the music is blaring from their speakers.
