Static-X & Sevendust at The Midway on April 30

American metal bands, Static-X and Sevendust, have announced the Machine Killer North American double-headlining tour. The bands will be making a stop in San Francisco at The Midway on April 30.

Static-X is a Los Angeles based industrial metal band that formed in 1994. The group has gone through various iterations throughout the years, having broken-up and reformed twice in their 20 year long career. Static-X most recently reformed in 2018 after the tragic death of founding vocalist, Wayne Static, in 2014. The current lineup consists of bassist Tony Campos, lead guitarist Koichi Fukuda, drummer Ken Jay, and vocalist Xer0. The band released six studio albums during their first run and have released one as the current iteration with their upcoming album, Project: Regeneration Vol. 2, scheduled to arrive on January 26.

Sevendust also formed in 1994 but in Atlanta, Georgia, and have had a more consistent and prolific run as a band. They’ve released a total of 14 studio albums, three of which have been RIAA certified as gold. Their track, “Thank You,” was nominated for Best Metal Performance at the 2016 Grammy Awards. The group put out their most recent full-length project, Truth Killer, last July. Sevendust is known for their progressive metal sound, complemented by vocalist Lajor Witherspoon’s soulful voice. In addition to Witherspoon, the band’s lineup also consists of bassist Vince Hornsby, drummer Morgan Rose, guitarist John Connolly, and lead guitarist Clint Lowery.
