Peter Hook & The Light at The Warfield on September 24

Joy Division and New Order cover band, Peter Hook & The Light, have announced a North American tour where they will be playing both Substance albums by Joy Division and New Order live. The tour includes a stop in San Francisco at The Warfield on September 24.

Frontman Peter Hook was a founding member of legendary new wave band, Joy Division, prior to the band splitting up in 1980 due to vocalist Ian Curtis’ untimely passing. Hook was also a founding member of New Order, the band that formed in place of Joy Division after their split. Hook began performing with The Light in 2010 after it was revealed he was no longer speaking or performing with members of New Order.

Peter Hook & The Light have gone on to perform a number of sold out world tours, playing select albums from both the Joy Division and New Order discographies. Their upcoming tour will feature the band playing through Joy Division and New Order’s respective, Substance, compilations which feature many of the hits from both bands’ careers.
