Album Review: Nail Within – Sound Of Demise

Mind dazzling musical havoc

Israeli death metal band Nail Within was previously active for two years where they released their high profiled debut album through French Listenable and now Nail Within is back with new music. This month the band dropped their album Sound Of Demise where each track is filled with vein jolting instrumentation and wild vocal performances. Sound Of Demise shows how passionate Nail Within is about their music.

Kicking things off is “Bleeding Society.” What is great about this ditty is how fast and heavy the instrumentation sounds. The guitar and drums bring a solid metal vibe while guest vocalist Tom Angelripper from Sodom shakes the background with his brutal vocal tones. “Bleeding Society” introduces listeners to Nail Within’s chaotic world.

Title track “Sound Of Demise” is a stunning composition, the instrumentation heavy with sounds of Metallica and Slayer. While listening, electrifying guitar riffs and thunderous drum beats shake the background with a righteous tribal tempo while Yishai Sweartz sings the lyrics with great authority.

“Years of Madness” features Testament’s guitarist Eric Peterson. The meaning behind this song is bittersweet as it is a tribute to L.G. Petrov of Entombed who passed away two years ago. The best part about the whole tune is hearing Peterson spicing things up with his killer guitar riffs that contribute to the insanity.

“Severe Suffering” is a song that starts with an eerie guitar riff that produces a dark and dooming sound. Meanwhile, guest vocalist Bobby Ferry from the band 16 brings powerfully creative aspects, his vocals blending in with the music. This brings a sense of unwanted despair and hopelessness.

Sound Of Demise is a soul shaker album that shows how much Nail Within cares about their music. Those who love death metal will not be disappointed with this album thanks to dynamic instrumentation and heart stopping vocal performances.
