Crosses, the electronic-rock collaboration between Deftones vocalist Chino Moreno and Far guitarist Shaun Lopez, released their long-awaited album, Goodnight, God Bless, I Love U, Delete. last month. This marks their first full-length release in nine years and follows the 2022 EP PERMANENT.RADIANT. Notably, the album features contributions from EL-P of Run the Jewels and Robert Smith of The Cure.

Ahead of their 2024 tour, they performed at the intimate Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever on November 13, adding excitement to the anticipation of their return to the music scene. The duo wasted no time, going on at about 9:30 p.m. and diving straight into the set with the choir-like opening, “Initiation.” Their sound was dark yet romantic, the bass vibrations palpable beneath your feet.

It was an electric 75-minute set, but the audience would have gladly welcomed another hour if given the opportunity. Frontman Chino Moreno engaged the crowd actively by standing atop amps and joking with the crowd when asked, “How ‘bout them Raiders?” Moreno’s voice, with its familiar and melodic sound, evoked a sense of nostalgia. The night concluded with a classic cover of ‘Goodbye Horses,’ prompting a crowd sing-along before Moreno expressed gratitude and wished everyone a good night.

Crosses Familiar World Tour kicks off February 7 at The Depot in Salt Lake City, Utah.
