Mom Jeans. at the Fox Theater on March 1

Bay Area natives, Mom Jeans, have announced a tour in support of their new album, Bear Market. The tour kicks off with a stop in Oakland at the Fox Theater on March 1.

The emo band got their start in 2014, when key members Eric Butler and Austin Carango met at UC Berkeley. The band released their debut album, Best Buds, in 2016. The album exposed the world to the band’s signature sound that blends powerful vocals, raw instrumentation, and vulnerable songwriting through songs like “Death Cup” and “Edward 40hands.” Mom Jeans released their sophomore LP, Puppy Love, in 2018. The next four years would see a number of lineup changes and a national tour at the end of 2021.

In 2022, Mom Jeans, released their biggest album to date, Sweet Tooth, which was also the first album produced with all of their current band members. Mom Jeans is vocalist Eric Butler, drummer Austin Carango, guitarist Bart Thompson, and bassist Sam Kless.

Their upcoming album, Bear Market, is a record of acoustic reworks that breathe new life into the band’s greatest hits as well as a number of deep cuts. The album is set to release this Friday, 11/17.

Mom Jeans have been a staple of the Bay Area underground for years but a nonstop touring circuit post-pandemic has exposed them to a much wider audience. Their upcoming show at the Fox Theater is their biggest in the Bay Area to date.
