Album Review: Wargasm – Venom

A vein jolting album

British electronic rock duo Wargasm have been dazzling people with their music since 2018 and later this month the band will be releasing their album Venom. On each track the instrumentation shakes the background with face smacking sound while the vocal performances serenades the ears with high pitched vocal tones. Venom just shows how much Wargasm have grown as a duo.

Title track “Venom” is fantastic, Sam Matlock’s vocals brings the heaviness on this composition. While listening, the shrieking from the vocalist contributes to the lingering madness and each vocal tone blends in with the static guitar playing while Milkie Way uses her melodic voice to rap and sing out the lyrics. “Venom” shows how powerful Matlock is as a vocalist.

“Death Rattle” is a rather alluring tune, Wargasm uses electronic music to describe what this piece is about. As a whole, the sounds from the keyboard, guitar and drum playing brings a solid electronic vibe that will cause people to dance while they are listening to the music. Thanks to the killer instrumentation, “Death Rattle” proves how electronic rock can still thrive in today’s music world.

“Bang Ya Head” is a heart stopping piece that displays the heavier side of Wargasm. As a whole, the electronic beats blending in with the guitar and drum playing brings a strong kick of metal music while Matlock and Way vocal performances fills the air with their dominant vocal styles. “Bang Ya Head” is no doubt one of the best songs on the album because Wargasm brings the screaming metal blaring from listeners speakers.

“Modern Love” is a great composition that has a killer vocal performance from Way and outstanding instrumentation. Right off the bat, Way’s lovely melodic voice can be heard shaking the atmosphere with her delicate vocal tone while the electronic/rock creates a catchy tempo, another one that will move people to sing or dance along while listening.

Wargasm brings their all on Venom because through the music, the duo shows how passionate they are as artists and musicians.
