Lil Yachty’s Vancouver Concert Canceled After Encouraging Crowd To Rush Pit

According to Stereogum, Georgia-based rapper and record producer Lil Yachty’s recent concert in Vancouver was reportedly canceled five songs into the set after the artist invited the crowd to fill up the pit. The show was being held at Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre on Saturday, October 21.

Before performing “Slide” from his 2023 TESLA EP, the rapper invited fans in the stands to come down to the pit section of the venue. Witnesses claim that Lil Yachty’s show was cut short when some fans refused to return to their seats, despite the rapper’s requests for concertgoers to find their way back to their previous seating arrangements.

Lil Yachty commented on the matter in an Instagram post on Sunday afternoon with a video showing crowds of concertgoers rushing into area in front of the stage, “They shut us down last night vancouver…. we gotta run that shit backkkkkkkkk.”

The rapper was included on this year’s lineup for Osheaga Music and Arts Festival alongside Billie Eilish, The National, Baby Keem, Sofi Tukker, Kendrick Lamar, Kim Petras, Rufus Du Sol, The Flaming Lips and more. Back in 2018, Lil Yachty and Santigold were featured in the music video for Diplo’s single “Worry No More” from the latter’s California EP.
