Live Review: Metallica + Pantera on M72 Tour at SoFi Stadium, Los Angeles, August 26th, 2023

Metallica is a bucket-list, must-attend concert for most music fans, which led to roughly 70k individuals filling the crowd at SoFi Stadium for a heavy metal weekend.

Metallica boasted a “No Repeat Weekend” where the band was doing a split set of hits. 2 nights, 2 different sets and 2 different opening bands. The first night, Friday, was supported by Mammoth WVH and Pantera. The second night, Sunday, was supported by Five Finger Death Punch and Ice Nine Kills. Most attendees held tickets for both days so they could maximize the amount of songs seen possible. Metallica, gave the audience two distinctive setlists and were able to accommodate fans eager to listen to more of their new album, while not sacrificing any of the hits.

Metallica, known for their stages and overall performance energy, did not disappoint on this M72 Tour. Their classic round stage made a comeback, this time holding a large “snake pit” in the center of the stage. Die hard fans could have a 360 view of the band and show. For this 16 song, 2 hour show, fans enthusiastically sang their hearts out and survived the pit until the final note…all to wake up and do it all over again.
