The emo rock powerhouses The Used and Pierce The Veil embarked on a highly-anticipated co-headlining tour. The outing, titled The Creative Control Tour has hit 26 major cities including Irvine, California. On Saturday, July 1, the tour made a pitstop at the FivePoint Amphitheater which marked one of the largest crowds the two bands have performed in front of. The performers delivered their electrifying sets packed with all the hits and fan favorites. The Used also promoted their latest studio album Toxic Positivity, while Pierce The Veil commemorated their newly released fifth album, The Jaws of Life!
The Used delivered an electrifying and emotionally charged performance, captivating fans with their signature blend of raw energy and introspective lyrics. The Utah-born quartet, led by frontman and lead vocalist Bert McCracken, took the stage by storm. From the moment the lights dimmed and the opening chords resonated through the venue and the curtain dropped, the crowd was hooked. The band flawlessly transitioned from the heart wrenching ballads to explosive anthems creating a rollercoaster of emotions that left the crowd exhilarated. The performance was a testament to The Used’s enduring influence on the emo rock genre, reminding us all of the cathartic power of music.
Meanwhile, San Diego-based rock band Pierce The Veil was a whirlwind of a performance to witness. From the moment they took the stage, the crowd erupted with excitement chanting, “Pierce The Veil!” in unison. The band’s stage presence was infectious, with lead vocalist Vic Fuentes’ soaring vocals, lead guitarist Tony Perry and bassist Jaime Preciado shredding through intricate riffs. They played several of their notable works and singles including “Pass The Nirvana,” “Emergency Contact” and “King For A Day.” Pierce The Veil’s performance was an emotional journey for all those that attended, leaving everyone on a high from the power of emo rock.
