Carly Rae Jepsen at Metro on August 1

Carly Rae Jepsen plays The Greek Theater in Los Angeles, CA USA on 18 October 2022.

Pop phenomenon Carly Rae Jepsen is playing a Lollapalooza Aftershow at Metro on August 1. Just a few days later, she will be playing Lollapalooza on Thursday. These performances come after her B-side drop, The Loveliest Time, which she released just a few days ago.

Hailing from British Columbia, Jepsen has a passion for music early on, starring in her middle school productions of Annie, Grease, and The Wiz. The artist found mainstream success after placing third in the fifth season of Canadian Idol. The iconic earworm, “Call Me Maybe,” was released prior to Jepsen’s second album and earned her a record deal, as well as the title of “Song of the Summer” from Billboard Magazine.

Since becoming a household name, Carly Rae Jepsen has been on several world tours, starred as Cinderella on Broadway, performed opposite Tom Hanks in a music video, and released five more studio albums. Her most recent album, The Loveliest Time, is a companion album to her October 2022 album, The Loneliest Time. Both albums have Jepsen’s signature pure-pop sound combined with her disco and 1980s influences.

Since September 2022, the artist has been on the “So Nice” Tour, which will conclude on August 13 in LA. One dollar from every ticket sold in North America has been donated to The Ally Coalition, which supports at-risk LGBTQ+ youth. Critics have commended Jepsen’s energy and presence on stage, dancing around to all her hits. Jefferson Lim of Annenberg Media commented that she “performed with such vigor and passion that it was just too hard not to dance and sing along.”
