Monáe is an American singer, rapper, and actress with eight Grammy nominations. Their music has been popular since the release of their demo album The Audition in 2003 followed by skyrocketing popularity after they were featured on the fun. song “We Are Young.” Their third album Dirty Computer, released in 2018, earned them multiple Grammy nominations including Album of the Year.
They have ventured into acting as well, with their first roles in Moonlight and Hidden Figures in 2016, followed by Harriet in 2019 and Hidden Figures in 2022. They have been praised thoroughly for their combination of musical talent and acting prowess, venturing into new territory.
Now, Monáe is anticipating the release of their fourth studio album The Age of Pleasure. The album is set to release this Friday, June 9th, and is available for preorder now. The first single off of the album “Lipstick Lover” has garnered nearly 4 million plays on Spotify in the time since its release.
Monáe’s The Age of Pleasure tour kicks off on August 30th in Seattle, Washington, and will span 26 cities across the US and Canada including the September 26th date at Radio City Music Hall and the 28th at Kings Theater in Brooklyn.
