Thrilling, intense and dynamic
On their newest album, Particles. Death Objective, Melt Motif explores a variety of different electronic sounds. As a whole, each of the songs displayed a somewhat eerie and ominous sound which sets a darker tone for the album. Melt Motif also showcases their vocals on a few tracks which adds a thrilling element to the album.
They start with the track “Broken Floor.” This sounds a bit different from the rest of the album, having a more intense and louder feel to it. The muffled vocals and use of synthesizers accompanied by the instrumentation allows the listener to be fully immersed in the most intense song on the album.
Melt Motif throws the listener for a bit of a loop with their second track on the album titled “Full Moon.” The song starts off with a danceable melody that appears to be much more cheery than the first track, but still carries the menacing vocals throughout to keep it on theme. “Full Moon,” being one of the brighter tracks of the album, carries us through to the most bubbly of the tracks, “Where I Want To Die.” The bubbling instrumentation of this track combined with the clearer, brighter sounding vocals offsets the rest of the album and allows the listener to be put at ease. They are still able to carry out their darker theme with the lyrical themes and title of the track.
The second to last song on the album “Abyss” brings the tone of back down to the original ominous roots. This track features more of a background sound than the rest of the songs, bringing in various drum sounding tones and other electronic elements.
Bringing it back to the original sound of the first track, the final song titled “Fever” really brings the listener back to the mood of “Broken Floor,” making the album have a bit more of a full circle feel. Melt Motif’s Particles. Death Objective, takes the listener on a roller coaster ride of different electronic sounds and tones with lyrical embellishments to make it a well rounded album.
