In honor of his new studio album, Every Loser, the Godfather of punk made his way to the stage at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles last week. A star studded lineup joined Pop on stage, consisting of Chad Smith, drummer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, bassist Duff McKagan of Guns N’ Roses, guitarist Jamie Hince of The Kills, and Grammy-winning songwriter/producer Andrew Watt.
To say Iggy Pop’s stage presence was mesmerizing would be the understatement of the century. It was exhilarating to be in the presence of such essential players in the classic punk scene. He took the stage by storm (no shirt necessary) and had the audience hypnotized from start to finish. Special surprise guest Slash joined the group for the encore, including the 1969 Stooges’ cover of ‘I Wanna Be Your Dog’, and the crowd went wild.
