mxdwn PREMIERE: Creux Lies Shares Dark Energizing Song “Misunderstanding” (Ash Code remix)

Sacramento-based electronic Cruex Lies, best known for memorable live performances and out-of-this-world dynamics consisting of sounds from the 80s and 90s that rapture fans everywhere. They have performed with notable bands such as AFI, Soft Kill, The Soft Moon and so many more. Cruex Lies brings together the vox/programmer Ean Clevenger, the guitarist Barry Crider, synth/drums David Wright and last but not least there is the bassist Kyle Vorst. It has been a few years since they released their first full-length album The Hearth in 2017 but have come out of the woodwork for some top-notch remixes from various groups such as Ash Code, Pixel Grip, TRAITRS, Male Tears, Twin Tribes and Dara. One of those top-notch remixes is “Misunderstanding” (Ash Code remix) which will be coming off the band’s upcoming remix album Divine Remix set to be released on May 25th, 2023.

Exclusively premiering with mxdwn Music “Misunderstanding” (Ash Code remix) is a dark, brooding and energizing kind of remix that defies electronic music and takes it to a new level of intensity that rocks the foundation of what we already know and love. Even though it has a dark and brooding feel to the song the opposite feeling we should get is energizing but this remix does just that. It makes the body move and gets the blood pumping through are bodies as we move to the beat.

Creux Lies’ Clevenger breaks down the track “Misunderstanding” (Ash Code remix):

“The goth aesthetic in Italy dates back to the 12th century; yet, roughly 800 years later, it apexed with Ash Code. We fucking adore this trio. Creux Lies had the pleasure of doing some shows with this incredible band during one of their latest US runs. In the backstages and on the side stages, we found the true energy of friendship and passion, and we have remained massive fans of them personally and artistically since. We approached the band to spin their infectious flavor onto our “Goodbye Divine,” hit track, “Misunderstanding,” and they answered the call. (Although letting us know they were taking a break from remixes after us due to their prolific remix history… LUCKY US!) This is a god damn dance floor banger. Dara of Creux Lies even took some time to make a VJ visual video to entice the eyes and ears. Catch them at Wave Gotik Treffen on 5.27.23.”
