The indie star Feist is coming to Radius on May 5th! The Canadian singer was born Leslie Feist and is working on her next album. Feist has released songs that have gained mainstream traction such as “1234” and “Mushaboom”. She has also been nominated four times for the GRAMMY awards. Her songs have also appeared on various episodes of “Grey’s Anatomy” as well as the Grey’s Anatomy Vol 3 Original Soundtrack. According to her store, the next album Multitudes is set to release on April 14th.
Feist has released a teaser for her upcoming album with singles “In Lightning”. “Love Who We Are Meant To”, and “Hiding Out In The Open”. The first single, “In Lightning” greets listeners with echoing background vocals and a chopping drum beat. The song is very reminiscent of a nighttime chant. The second single is a classic indie song; it has Feist singing over a strumming guitar. She laments about not being able to love the person you should. The last single “Hiding Out In The Open” feels similar to its predecessor. With harmonies and acoustic guitars, Feist openly discusses not being perfect. She doesn’t use it as an excuse to stop her however. Feist uses her imperfection as a strength and although it may not be the best quality, she knows that imperfection is something everyone has as well.
Feist continues to deliver the songs that were famous in the old “Grey’s Anatomy” days. Her songs continue to fit in along the likes of Ingrid Michaelson, Cat Power, and Andrew Bird.
