Nils Frahm comes to The Salt Shed!

23/4/23 – Chicago, IL – The Salt Shed

The musician and composer Nils Frahm is coming to The Salt Shed on April 23rd! This past year, the Berlin composer has recently released his fourteenth album entitled Music for Animals. His instrumental music tackles genres like classical, ambient, and electronic. His experimentation with the piano and other sounds creates a truly captivating and ethereal soundscape. His fourteenth album opens with the haunting 26 minute “The Dog with 1000 Faces”. The first track sets the tone for the rest of the magnetic album.

According to his website, Frahm started learning to play the piano at a young age. He taught himself the foundation of classical music as well as the experimentation of modern composers. It is this mix that makes Frahm’s music so interesting. The diverging timelines of music creates a classically fine tuned discography that isn’t afraid to play around with modern sounds.

Frahm’s website also details the film score he wrote for the motion picture “Victoria”, a film by German actor and filmmaker Sebastian Schipper. His score for the film won the German Film Prize for Best Soundtrack in 2015.

Frahm’s diverse and beautiful discography will vibrate sonically through The Salt Shed. His beautiful arrangements will echo through the venue. The live atmosphere will give life to these beautiful instruments and Frahm’s talents.
