Aly and AJ come to the Riviera Theatre for their With Love From Tour! Aly and AJ Michalka made their first mark through the worlds of Disney pop music. They’re the duo that brought “Potential Breakup Song” and “Rush” to the young millennials and Gen Z-er’s. According to Jamusa.com, Aly and AJ didn’t want to be like their Disney peers. The megastardom of Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, and Demi Lovato didn’t appeal to the sisters. They didn’t want fame to control them and their creative process. So the duo has kept pretty lowkey, returning to music after 14 years with their album a touch of the beat gets you up on your feet gets you out and then into the sun.
According to their Spotify, The title track “With Love From” has been released in anticipation of their upcoming fourth album. The song is accompanied by “After Hours” and “Baby Lay Your Head Down”. All three songs sound like they are straight from a Fleetwood Mac album. The witchy country rock songs hit listeners in their core and bring out a swaying hypnotic energy.
With pop punk anthems such as “Potential Breakup Song” and their newer more dream rock songs like “With Love From” the live show should be as diverse as their discography. Aly & AJ make their music with intention. They don’t want to be mega pop stars: they want to be artists and storytellers. Their intentions seep through their music and will make for a captivating live show.
