Wage War Ace Of Spades 04/23

A force of a metalcore band scheduled to Wage War near you Sacramento!

Wage War! Wow this band is electric! YEAH! Throw some horns! I have never heard of this group but man now I am glad I did just a few days ago! This is a melodic metalcore band that not only has the stereotypical breakdown but they also incorporate beatdowns in their songs too! SO SICK! I love beatdown music! A really great super aggressive metal subgenre!

Check the song Manic. That one hits HARD. But I am not feeling the rapping. It’s not bad, it’s just too out of place for my tastes and the hype comes too late for me. Been there and done that. I understand a lot of newer metalcore bands all of sudden want to start rapping with beats too but man this isn’t the 90’s and at least back then they did it right! Bands like Korn knew how to incorporate rap without making it sound like someone switched the dial on the radio. Just saying, just saying. Anyway, Stitch was also a good song off the album Deadweight released in 2017. I like how it starts off with a headbanger grooves in the beginning but then it goes straight to a more contemporary metalcore 2/4 time signature and it loses me because I am so over that kind of music in the context of metalcore. But that’s just me.

Another thing I noted so far about this band is that they don’t have swear words in their lyrics. That’s really really cool! It keeps it family friendly and it doesn’t sound like some try-hard kid is behind the mic trying to sound cool and edgy. Ha! Just saying. It’s definitely refreshing! Gotta love it! I would love to go! What about you?

I’ll be honest I would skip the opening acts. I don’t care for the artist Nothing, Nowhere style of music and Spite sounds like a cool band since it’s deathcore and I love all kinds of death metal (including deathcore) but I’m just not feeling them 100%. Deathcore always hits less hard and authentic than the more aged genres of death metal. Yeah. I’m one of those guys. But that’s just me and probably the only deathcore band I would see in a HEARTBEAT would be Impending Doom. A great Christian band with great Christian inspired lyrics and statements. Oh, and they are very very groovy.
