John Mayer’s SOLO acoustic tour comes to Chicago!

31/3/23 – Chicago, IL – United Center

The singer-songwriter John Mayer is coming to the United Center on March 31st! The person responsible for hits like “Heartbreak Warfare”, “Waiting On the World to Change” and “New Light” is on his SOLO tour. According to unitedcenter.com, the tour will be entirely acoustic and focus on the guitar with special piano and electric guitar performances. The SOLO Tour has been 20 years in the making and should feature rare sets of Mayer’s.

According to GRAMMY.com, John Mayer has received 19 nominations, with 7 ending up as wins. Throughout his career he has collaborated with artists like Tony Bennett, Frank Ocean, Katy Perry and Daniel Caesar.

Mayer’s most recent release is his eighth studio album called Sob Rock. The album features his classic acoustic alternative sound. He laments about love in songs like “Last Train Home” and “Why You No Love Me”. He talks about finding himself post break up in “Wild Blue”. While in “Carry Me Away” he looks for adventure in the open world. The album hits a lot of different emotions that will be wonderful to hear live.

The expansive United Center should bring a chilling environment to Mayer’s acoustic set. As large as the stadium is, the echoing strum of his guitar and vocals should be incredibly resonant. The SOLO tour isn’t expected to be theatrical, but instead intimate, emotional, and heartwarming.
