Betty Who comes to The Riviera Theatre

21/3/23 – Chicago, IL – Riviera Theatre

The Australian born singer Betty Who is coming to the Riviera Theatre on March 21st! Betty Who, the artist born as Jessica Newham, has released four studio albums. Her most recent was the 80s inspired BIG! in 2022. Since then, the singer has released a cover of Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill”.

The queer single appears on Troye Sivan’s Blue Neighborhood, as well as contributing the main theme for Queer Eye: “All Things”. According to her website, Betty’s music gives listeners “an excuse to dance in the mirror, license to trust our instinct, and knowledge that joy is never too far away.”

This is just what her fourth album BIG! does. The first song and title track starts off with an 80s inspired piano synth. Then it explodes with stadium intensity, banging drums, and echoing guitars. The song sees Betty Who being proud of her independence and big personality. The rest of the album continues to uplift, especially in songs like “WEEKEND” and “BLOW OUT MY CANDLE”.

Opening for Betty who is Shea Couleé! The performer gained mainstream recognition while competing in the ninth season of Rupaul’s Drag Race and the fifth and seventh seasons of Rupaul’s All Stars. Since then Couleé has released singles such as “Cocky”, “Crème brûlée” and “Let Go”. Shea Couleé is everything you want in a performer: she will bring eye catching looks, mesmerizing choreography, and catchy dance tracks.

Together Betty Who and Shea Couleé will bring a party you’ll never forget.
