Famed screamo band of old comes to San Francisco to bring the painful nostalgia!
Silverstein was a big deal back then when guys like Chiodos, Underoath, Every Time I Die, Sonny Moore’s (also known as Skrillex) band From First To Last and so so so many bands had such a major and powerful grip on the Hot Topic/MTV rock scene. Do you remember those days? When Hot Topic was actually cool and didn’t sell any dumb poser stuff. When MTV would air screamo and metal and punk rock? Well I don’t know if they even still exist on TV but if they do I don’t even know if they even still show anything outside of rap and hip-hop. Sell outs. All of them.
Anyway, are you down to go? Of course not because you’re not even reading this. But I’ll just be nice and pretend that you are just to save face between us both. As I’m saying that, pretend I’m giving you a really cheeky smile. So the show is on Van Ness Avenue. Oh wait. Man that’s in the tenderloin! Better watch out, those freaks will cut you if you look at them sideways! Just kidding kid you’ll be fine! I used to walk those streets at night all the time! Just a bunch of creeps. But ya avoid eye contact with people you don’t know.
It’s on a Sunday and since it’s a niche event with niche music then the tickets reflect just how cheap they are at a starting price of only $30. See how my soft language justifies and softens the blow to your wallet for yah? Anyway, the doors open at 6 o’ clock and the show is live and screaming at 7 o’ clock. There are scheduled to be multiple supporting live acts opening for Silverstein. Bands include Dayseeker, SeeYouSpaceCowboy (a great nod to one of my favorite anime), and One Step Closer.
