On February 24th, Steve Aoki comes to the Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. He is celebrating the release of his seventh studio album HiROQUEST: Genesis. Steve Aoki, has been nominated for a GRAMMY twice and has collaborated with artists like BTS, Lincoln Park, and Kid Cudi.
According to livenation.com, $1 of every ticket sold gets donated to The Aoki Foundation. According to it’s website, The Aoki Foundation’s mission is to support organizations in brain science. They want to focus on degenerative brain diseases and to extend the healthy lives of people. The foundation wants to catch diseases before they appear using the technology available to us. With the help of doctors, The Aoki Foundation seeks to get ahead of things that can destroy humans.
Aoki’s sevenths album HiROQUEST: Genesis features a lot of different artists and a lot of different genres. Artists like MOD SUN and Taking Back Sunday give their punk and rock influences on the songs “Movie Star” and “Just Us Two”. Meanwhile, Aoki harnesses his electronic dance roots in the song “Stars Don’t Shine” which features Global Dan.
As diverse as HiROQUEST: Genesis is, the album is fun, exciting, and easy to dance to.
Joining Aoki on his tour is Timmy Trumpet, Dr Phunk, Juuku and CHYL. Timmy Trumpet is a DJ and producer who recently released the electronic dance track “Mas Que Nada” with Marnik and Moonshine. Netherland DJ, Dr Phunk recently collaborated with Timmy Trumpet and STVW on single “The Money”. Juuku mixes electronic dance music with ambient chillwave intros to make beautifully built tracks. CHYL is a female DJ and producer who just released their single “Blow” which features distorted vocals and an electronic dance beat.
