15/2/23 – Chicago, IL – House of Blues

In February, We Came As Romans will be at the House of Blues on their Darkbloom Tour. The Michigan band celebrates the release of their current album Darkbloom, which came out in October. We Came As Romans is composed of Joshua Moore, Dave Stephens, Lou Cotton, Andy Glass and David Puckett.

According to their website, the band re-emerges from a time of darkness after former member Kyle Pavone passed away in 2018. Since Pavone’s passing, the band continues to make music in his memory. Included in that is 2022’s Darkbloom. The album mixes electronic elements such as synths with the metalcore sound. The song “Black Hole” showcases this with introducing edited choppy vocals with heavy guitars. In “Daggers”, Romans explores genres with a rap verse from Zero 9:36.

We Came As Romans promises that the brotherhood will continue on. As they push out new music they bring along supporting acts for their current tour.

Opening for We Came As Romans is Erra and Brand of Sacrifice. Erra is a metal band with electronic influences. The band is composed of Jesse Cash, JT Cavey, Alex Ballew, Sean Price and Conor Hesse. According to their website, the band tackles issues such as anxiety and depression as they try to find the “balance between the crushingly heavy and the headily melodic”.

Brand of Sacrifice is a deathcore band from Toronto. The name is drawn from the anime Beserk. Brand of Sacrifice experiments with electronic elements in their recent music. Recently, the band collaborated with We Came As Romans on their single “Darkbloom”.
