Dolly Parton Serenades Fan With “I Will Always Love You” To Help Complete Bucket List

Dolly Parton provided a terminally ill fan with a bit of joy by helping him check something off of his bucket list. This month, Dolly reached out to LeGrand Gold, who was diagnosed with colorectal cancer, via phone call. When Mr. Gold picked up, he was surprised to see one of his idols on the other end.

The conversation between LeGrand (AKA L.G.) and Dolly was recorded by his wife. Dolly greeted LG by thanking him for being such a dedicated fan of Dolly’s music and for making frequent trips to Dollywood. As the conversation progressed, Dolly made sure to offer the fan with sentimental words that we should pay close attention to.

““I’m just happy to know that I’ve got a fan that devoted and that I’ve had a chance to watch that journey all these years,” she said. “I’m just happy that we got to kind of have our journey together in this lifetime. I always want to make people happy with my music and with the things I do and the things I say and I’m just happy to know that I’ve touched your life in some way. So thank you for honoring me with that.”

During the holiday season, we’re told to be a bit more open and willing to sacrifice ourselves for others. In this instance, Dolly provides the perfect example of the meaning behind helping someone achieve their dreams. While the family feared that it’d be impossible to accomplish this feat, Dolly stepped up to the plate. In speaking with KSL, LG’s wife reiterated this claim:

“We’ve been flying above the silver lining for days. Out of the eleven items, we thought Dolly would be the impossible, but true to Dolly form, she once again reminds the world that dreams really do come true.”
