THIS WEEK: LOCAL H AT BOTTOM LOUNGE

31/12/22 – Chicago, IL – Bottom Lounge

The grungy rock band Local H comes to Chicago once again for New Years at Bottom Lounge! Originally from Zion, Local H birthed from R.E.M. songs “Oldfellows Local 151” and “Swan Swan H”. The band is led by original member Scott Lucas as well as joining member Ryan Harding. Their music harkens back to the grunge and alternative era of rock in the 90s and 2000s.

Their website showcases the years of online blogging over the course of Local H’s career. After nine studio albums, the band has had its ups and downs. The blogs detail the tougher moments of being a band for over 25 years, as well as its difficulties. They detail various members leaving as well as what it was like creating certain albums.

Their most recent release is LIFERS, which came out in 2020. Videos of singles “Hold That Thought”, “Beyond The Valley of Snakes”, “Patrick Batemen” and “Sunday Best” are all available on their Youtiube channel. Local H also appears on the Sling Blade Original Motion Picture Soundtrack with their song “Smothered In Hugs”.

Local H’s music defines a generation. On Spotify, their song “Bound for the Floor” appears on multiple 90s compilation albums. Their music is filled with nostalgia and will bring you back to a time of cigarettes, cassettes, and angst.
