Rock n roll country style punks come to San Francisco’s Bottom Of The Hill!
So The Detroit Cobras are like this punk band with a heavy influence of rockabilly. So think Elvis and Johnny Cash mixed with Black Flag and Bad Religion and a twist of B.B. King. That’s the Cobra’ sound! Not too bad. You know I dont think youve heard of them but they are worth a go on the car stereo system or your headset. Overall these gals have a pretty traditionally American aesthetic and I can truly love and respect it! They are the headliners for an opening act called The Atom Age and I was slightly surprised to see them on the roster. I actually have heard of these guys and I like them! Very rockabilly and gothabilly! Pretty much have the same sound as The Detroit Cobras but a little less traditional punk. Songs from The Atom Age I recommend are We Disappear In The Night and Walk Through Walls.
Anyway, how was your day? Did you listen to any good music today? Any different music today? Old music today? Well with these two bands you get all of that and a bag of chips. If you make it to the show and possibly bring a friend you may even get the shirt too. What else did you want to know before going to the show? Well Bottom Of The Hill, the venue, has a pretty cool and vintage looking website. Here is a link. These guys are so old skool that if you look on their sight, all tickets for the show will call only! So at least you don’t have to buy anything now and print out some papers at Office Depot or Staples or maybe you have your own printer I don’t know or care. So that is pretty convenient if you ask me. I wonder if those guys have a pay phone still in the club. Or maybe even a smoke room. I wonder just old skool Bottom Of The Hill really is.
