Unknown Mortal Orchestra at Webster Hall on April 13th and 14th, 2023

New Zealand band Unknown Mortal Orchestra just recently announced a tour in support of their upcoming double LP, which will be coming out in 2023. So far, they’ve only released a single titled “I Killed Captain Cook,” which was their first release since 2021. The last time they released a full-length album, was in 2018. This also marks their first tour in four years.

Unknown Mortal Orchestra consists of Ruban Nielson (lead vocals, guitar, drums, bass, piano, keyboards, synthesizers), Jacob Portrait (bass, synths, backing vocals), and Kody Nielson (drums, percussion, synths, backing vocals). Touring members of the band include Quincy McCrary (keyboards, synths, backing vocals) and Chris Nielson (keyboards, synths, saxophone, backing vocals). The rock band, also known for not being limited to one sound, has been around since 2010, and their career has been hallmarked by critical acclaim. They have built a diverse, massive and loyal fanbase, as indicated by their 2.1 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

Valentina Arrieta: I'm currently a college student who loves going to shows more than anything, and who has been an avid concertgoer for the last decade. My entire life revolves around music, and I can talk passionately, and at length about all my favorite artists. I study art in all its forms, with an emphasis on music, so I love that I'm able to get the opportunity to write about music, and share with you all some great shows that are coming up in NYC!
