The Beach Boys at The Chicago Theatre on Dec. 18

The Beach Boys are ready to spread cheer through some holiday harmonization this year. Check out their Tis the Season event featuring the Holiday Vibrations Orchestra on Dec. 18, and hear their merry hums resonate throughout The Chicago Theatre.

The Californian legends of The Beach Boys put out their latest album in 2022. The record is a hefty compilation album titled Sail On Sailor – 1972. The production includes unheard tracks and alternate mixes, as well as live recordings from a concert at Carnegie Hall 50 years ago, hence the title’s reference of 1972. There are multiple versions of Sail On Sailor – 1972, including a Deluxe release of two hours and 30 minutes, and a Super Deluxe version that lasts for almost a whopping six hours.

The Beach Boys originally consisted of members Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, Dennis Wilson, Carl Wilson, Bruce Johnston and David Marks. While their recent project references half a century of work, their career goes back even further. Their hit debut record Surfin’ Safari premiered in 1962, marking a career of 60 years in 2022.  One of their most recognizable hits remains title track “Surfin’ USA” of Surfin’ USA in 1963. During their career, The Beach Boys have been recognized with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1988 and received a Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award.
