Following the cancellation of the last three shows of their previous Brooklyn Steel residency (due to the rise of the Omicron variant), LCD Soundsystem is now back with another 20 shows at the Williamsburg venue. The Brooklyn residency was announced after the release of their first song in five years, “New Body Rhumba.” The single was created for the soundtrack of the upcoming Noah Baumbach film, White Noise.

LCD Soundsystem, the Grammy award-winning dance rock group, consists of James Murphy (vocals, numerous instruments), Nancy Whang (synth, keyboards, vocals), Pat Mahoney (drums), Tyler Pope (bass, guitar, synth), Al Doyle (guitar, synth, percussion), Matt Thornley (guitar, synth, percussion), and Korey Richey (synth, piano, percussion). The band, which has been around since 2002, has garnered massive critical acclaim over their extensive career, receiving their first Grammy for “Best Dance Recording” in 2018. Following their third studio album, This Is Happening, the band announced they were disbanding, and organized a four-hour farewell concert at Madison Square Garden on April 2, 2011. This show had many guest appearances from artists of note, like Reggie Watts and some members of Arcade Fire. In December 2015, they reunited and released their first single in five years, “Christmas Will Break Your Heart.” Afterward, they dropped their fourth studio album American Dream in September 2017, which became their first number-one album in the United States.

The band is now back after getting their previous Brooklyn residency partially canceled due to the rise of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus last December. The dates for the 20 shows they’re playing are: November 18, 19, 21, 22, 26, 27, 29, 30, and December 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, 16, and 17. For November 27th, 29th, and 30th, the tickets available on the AXS site are only available for American Express cardholders. There are still some demand tickets left for each show on AXS.com, which allows fans to get access to tickets again for popular shows (the prices for this are market-driven and have the ability to change on demand). These tickets currently range from around $100 to $200, depending on the night you want to go to. On various resale sites, such as StubHub or TickPick, you can find a resale ticket for even lower than this on some nights, and here, you can also purchase a ticket to the American Express cardholder-only shows.

Valentina Arrieta: I'm currently a college student who loves going to shows more than anything, and who has been an avid concertgoer for the last decade. My entire life revolves around music, and I can talk passionately, and at length about all my favorite artists. I study art in all its forms, with an emphasis on music, so I love that I'm able to get the opportunity to write about music, and share with you all some great shows that are coming up in NYC!
