[The Soft Moon] The Independent 11/26

Goth kid native to The Bay comes back home just in time for Thanksgiving

The Soft Moon (also known as Luis Vasquez) is definitely as gothic as one can get in the 80’s. He can get fast paced and synthy. I’ve just now heard of this guy and he’s pretty much up my brutalist (architecture) alley. You like gothic music right? Like Siouxsie and The Banshees, Bauhaus, or The Cure? Well this your new favorite to add to the playlist and maybe buy some tickets to his upcoming show? What? Still not sure if you like this guy or even know what Dark New Wave is? Have you heard of doomer music? Ya it’s that except the term doomer music is made up and there’s no difference between them so don’t be fooled.

I definitely suggest tracks like COLORS, it goes into more the gothic club vibes as well a few of his other tracks. On Spotify he has 149,172 monthly listeners as of this writing. In Los Angeles (near where he currently resides) he has the most listeners at just under 4 thousand. In countries he has either lived in or spent much time in he has a healthy following. Such as London with just under 3 thousand. Berlin, where he spent many years of his adulthood, has 2 thousand listeners. In Mexico City, and even Istanbul, Turkey, he has around 2 thousand listeners per month. That’s a lot of pain and sorrow being vented right there. I hope they’re all ok. (Shrugs).
