Kick off December with a performance by Portugal. The Man. The band headlines a holiday concert titled Twisted Xmas, with Bob Moses and Beach Bunny. Q101’s Twisted Christmas event spans three days, with Portugal. The Man on Dec. 6 at Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom.
Though the group released Woodstock as their most recent album in 2017 –not including their 2021 live album titled Oregon City Sessions– a new LP seems to be in the works. Portugal. The Man dropped “What, Me Worry?” as a new single in 2022. By their December concert, Portugal. The Man may have a few more fresh songs to play for audiences.
The band is currently comprised of members John Gourley, Zachary Carothers, Kyle O’Quin, Eric Howk, Jason Sechrist and Zoe Manville. At about the time of their inception around 2004, the Alaskan indie rockers moved their home base to Portland, Oregon. Portugal. The Man first produced Waiter: “You Vultures!” in 2006 as their debut studio album.
Portugal. The Man is perhaps best known for their 2017 hit single “Feel It Still.” The Woodstock track earned Portugal. The Man outstanding commercial success and critical acclaim. “Feel It Still” is certified six-times platinum in the U.S. and helped the band nab a Grammy win for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance in 2018. Along with accomplishments in their music career, the group also has a history of activism, working to support gun control, endangered species, voter registration and Indigenous rights.
