The New York City-based indie band The Moldy Peaches have announced that they will be reuniting to perform at the Los Angeles premiere of the upcoming film “Meet Me In The Bathroom,” Consequence of Sound reports. The performance will be the band’s first show together since they reunited to perform in 2011; the band has been mostly inactive since 2004.
“Meet Me In The Bathroom,” a documentary based on the 2017 novel of the same name written by journalist Lizzy Goodman, intends to give a history of the New York rock scene. The film intends to cover the stories, struggles, and successes of a variety of important New York rock bands, including The Strokes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, LCD Soundsystem, The Rapture, Interpol as well as The Moldy Peaches themselves, among others. The premiere of the film, as well as the accompanying events, are scheduled to take place at the Fonda Theater in Los Angeles on October 27.
Fans in attendance at the premiere will get to see the band’s original founding lineup, the duo of Adam Green and Kimya Dawson, perform, fitting for a film featuring the history of the band. On top of the film and performance, fans will also be treated to a conversation between the film’s directors Will Lovelace and Dylan Southern, along with Lizzy Goodman.
