Amon Amarth visits Chicago on Nov. 26. They are set to play at the city’s Aragon Ballroom. This performance is part of The Great Heathen Tour, with special guests Carcass, Obituary and Cattle Decapitation.

The Great Heathen Army marks Amon Amarth’s latest release. The 2022 studio album hit charts globally and received generally favorable reviews. Singles from The Great Heathen Army include “Get in the Ring” and “The Great Heathen Army.” In the same year, Amon Amarth also published their hit non-album single “Put Your Back Into The Oar.” Fans can look forward to enjoying tracks from The Great Heathen Army and possibly “Put Your Back Into The Oar” during The Great Heathen Tour.

The Swedish band hails from Tumba and assembled in 1992. Prior to their work as Amon Amarth, they played music under the band name Scum. With a whopping 12 studio albums under their belt, the death metal band (often referred to as Viking metal) started releasing LPs in 1998 with debut Once Sent From The Golden Hall. Many of their albums charted around the world, most notably including Twilight Of The Thunder God in 2008, Surtur Rising in 2011, Jomsviking in 2016 and Berserker in 2019. Their work features themes from Norse myths and Viking tales, setting them apart from other death metal groups.
