MxPx & Teenage Bottlerocket at House of Blues on Nov. 18

MxPx and Teenage Bottlerocket plan to perform in Chicago as part of their upcoming tour. The pop punk bands hit the famed House of Blues together on Friday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m.

MxPx released their album Life in Quarantine in 2020. It compiled songs from their pandemic-inspired weekly live streams from earlier that year. Their most recent release, live album Southbound To San Antonio came out in 2022, four years after their last studio album MxPx. The band’s present members include Mike Hererra, Yuri Ruley, Tom Wisniewski and Chris Adkins. Sick Sesh! by Teenage Bottlerocket dropped in 2021 as their most recent LP. The album features “Never Sing Along” and “Ghost Story” as singles.

In 1992, MxPx assembled in Washington under the band name Magnified Plaid. It changed to MxPx after appearing abbreviated on a concert poster, with lowercase x’s in place of periods. During their career, they’ve released 12 studio albums and over 20 singles. One of their most popular tracks includes 2000 release “Responsibility” from The Ever Passing Moment. That same year, Teenage Bottlerocket emerged from Wyoming. They debuted LP Another Way in 2003, and have since released eight additional studio albums. The group’s current lineup consists of guitarist Kody Templeman, bassist Miguel Chen, drummer Darren Chewka and founding member Ray Carlisle as vocalist.
