The Who at United Center on Oct. 12

Legendary rock band The Who and supporting act Steven Page will rock Chicago’s United Center on Oct. 12.

Their tour, titled The Who Hits Back! took a break in late May and will resume in early October. The set list likely includes classics as well as tracks from their most recent album. Though the band already supported this LP with the Moving On! Tour, The Who released twelfth studio album Who in 2019. The Moving On! Tour was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so the band may continue to celebrate Who through The Who Hits Back! performances.

A product of the ‘60s, The Who formed in London with core members Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend, John Entwistle and Keith Moon. The band’s sound and style proved highly influential, as they were among the first to implement use of synthesizers in rock music and are considered the creators of rock opera. Hit classics by The Who include “Pinball Wizard” and “We’re Not Gonna Take It” from Tommy, “The Kids Are Alright” and “My Generation” from 1965 debut album My Generation and chart topper “Won’t Get Fooled Again” from Who’s Next.

Joining them is Canadian artist Steven Page, formerly a vocalist, guitarist and songwriter for folk rock band the Barenaked Ladies. Page started his solo career in 2009, and produced his most recent album Discipline: Heal Thyself, Pt. II in 2018, as a follow-up to 2016 LP Heal Thyself Pt. I: Instinct.
