Regina Spektor at The Chicago Theatre on Oct. 9

Regina Spektor kicks off her upcoming tour in Chicago, titled An Evening With Regina Spektor. Her angelic voice and piano skills will illuminate The Chicago Theatre on Oct. 9.

The indie artist published her most recent album Home, before and after in June, subsequent to singles “Becoming All Alone,” “Up the Mountain” and “Loveology.” The singles stay consistent with her signature sound: smooth vocals accompanied by elegant piano, though “Up the Mountain” exhibits a more upbeat and somewhat psychedelic quality. Spektor’s upcoming tour is the first since Home, before and after, so fans can expect to hear songs from the album.

The Moscow-born singer and pianist self-released her first album 11:11 in 2001 and recorded Songs that same year. From 2003-2004 she toured with legendary rock band The Strokes, and together they recorded single “Modern Girls & Old Fashion Men,” a collaboration that helped grow her fanbase. Spektor’s Soviet Kitsch dropped in 2004 as her first label-produced LP. Two years later, she released her most popular album Begin to Hope, with international hit single “Fidelity.” In total, Spektor has published eight studio albums, including Home, before and after.
