Drake Debuts Unique New Music Video For “Falling Back”

Falling Back by Drake is officially putting everyone back on to wedding season. This music video encapsulated the fantasy of marrying several women, features of Tristan Thompson and his own mother, Sandi Graham. Immediately beginning the song, Drake is shown as anxiously preparing for his big commitment day. Upon saying each other’s vows, it is revealed that there is a line of wives standing behind each other. The beat kicks in officially as the camera showcases each one of the beautiful ladies.

There is a comical relief of joyful and cheerful reaction behind the audience. With lines like “I think he’s really taking this one seriously,” upon looking through the RSVP names of Drake and his wives. Intentionally so, the absurdity of this event and the audience’s reaction creates a great deal of accuracy behind commitment culture in our present day. Seen in both men and women, it’s almost becoming impossible to take a relationship seriously without putting some type of distinctive label on it just in case if arguments occur.

In the duration after the entire song became purely instrumental before returning to “Falling Back.” This song shows the more vulnerable and sensitive side to Drake that many of us came to know way back in his earlier music, with lines like, “I see us fadin’ away, I’m still holdin’ my breath for the day that you will, Nothing is healing, wait.” (Drake) Speaking purely into the sound in which Drake used, it was very experimental and distinct from most of his other albums which went heavy on beats.
